Business gate
Active entity, local permission, pet-care liability coverage, worker coverage, contracts, and a separate business account before paid care.
Nopawlitos safety standard
Good service is not finishing every planned minute at any cost. It is making the right call when behavior, gear, access, traffic, heat, cold, storms, or human safety changes.
Five gates before trust
The final service agreement will be reviewed for Illinois law and the selected insurance policy. These operating standards are the non-negotiable baseline.
Active entity, local permission, pet-care liability coverage, worker coverage, contracts, and a separate business account before paid care.
Identity and background screening, reference checks, pet first-aid training, supervised practice, and documented handling limits.
Meet-and-greet, gear check, size and strength fit, trigger history, escape risk, bite history, health notes, and emergency contacts.
Secure arrival, condition check, approved gear, location record, weather adjustment, home reset, and visit report.
Weather decisions
We use local alerts, pavement and air conditions, dog age, coat, health, and owner instructions. When outdoor activity is not appropriate, time shifts to a potty break and indoor care. Lightning, dangerous heat or cold, flooding, and inaccessible roads can stop service.
Home access
Client addresses, access codes, and keys belong in the protected operations platform, never in casual text threads. Keys use coded identifiers without addresses. Access is limited to assigned staff, and the door-lock check is part of every completion report.
Incident ladder
Move away from danger without creating another risk.
Call 911, the listed veterinary provider, or an emergency hospital as the situation requires.
Contact the owner and Nopawlitos escalation lead using the care plan.
Record times, observations, actions, witnesses, and photos without speculation.
Do not resume the service until the safety review and required follow-up are complete.
Dog and walker fit
A friendly dog can still be unsafe for a particular walker if the combined weight, pulling, gear, or environment exceeds that person's trained capacity.
Automation may flag risk, schedule reviews, and surface missing information. It may not overrule an on-scene caregiver, diagnose an animal, hide an incident, or auto-approve a high-risk dog.
Start with the truth
Honest behavior and health information helps us protect the pet, the caregiver, and the public. A concern does not automatically mean rejection.
